Medical

The medical market segment continues to evolve. We know, we've been producing medical components for over three decades. Yet with, arguably, more external pressures than ever before, our industry must look to innovation and new technologies as means to address and resolve the issues we confront every day.

At Bemis we continuously design, seek out, obtain, and implement innovation and technology in plastics processing and materials. It may not be easy, but we believe it necessary if we are to continue to be a viable contributor to the OEMs in the medical arena. Having a product line of critical medical products ourselves, insures that we have more reasons than most to remain a leader in plastics technology and medical market awareness.

What are some of these technologies? Patented co-injection molding is one which can combine any number of the 37,000 thermoplastics to provide characteristics and benefits no single material can possess. This technology can also address ergonomics by placing soft-touch materials in strategic areas of the part - without an expensive secondary process. A single part could be clear in one area, opaque in another. Or red in color in one area and blue in another. It can even be used to make two entirely different parts within the same cycle. The outside could be soft and flexible, the inside material rigid and structural. The outside material chemical, heat, and abrasion resistant, the inside recycled plastic. Our patented Foam Core technology makes parts lighter without affecting strength - we can even make it float if need be.

Our extrusion technologies go beyond tubing into multi-layered applications. Or it could be a stiff-flexible-stiff side-by-side co- extrusion. We can make post form continuous glass extrusions that have the physical characteristics of aluminum without the corrosion, coating requirements, permanent set, heat, and electrical transmission of metals. Graduated tight tolerance parts? We do those as well.

Your customers rely on your expertise, we invite you to rely on ours. Give us a call.

We're here to help.
