Heavy Truck
When we took delivery of the world's largest horizontal co-injection
machine last year, we realized that we'd have to start thinking big.
At 6600 ton and with the potential of producing nearly 100 pound parts,
well, we started thinking real big. Naturally we thought of the Heavy
Truck industry.
Heavy Truck has been a world leader in the conversion of metal to
plastics, particularly in the transportation industry. Up until now,
however, we think your style may have been cramped a little. You
see the advantages of injection molding around you every day.
Wire management, air flow direction, built in bosses, snap together
fit-ups, molded-in-color, lighter weight, corrosion, chemical and
impact resistance, Class A surfaces - but, all in such small parts!
Until now.
With the ability to produce products in excess of 20 square feet
many of your design constraints have melted away. And remember,
this is not just injection molding, it's co-injection. Not only can
you now design in many labor or cost saving ideas, you may have
the luxury of using some of the finest engineering grade thermoplastics
on the market. Why? Because those formerly cost prohibitive plastics
now form only a portion of your injection molded part. Aesthetically
off-spec or regrind materials can make up the rest serving as the
"core" of the part, whereas only the "skin" needs to be the expensive
material. Even more, do you want to take weight out of your parts?
Consider foaming the core material. Think of it as structural foam
with a Class A finish. With the patent already applied for, it is one
of the technologies only available from us. With over 37,000 grades
of plastics on the market, your choices haven't merely doubled; they
have become virtually infinite!
In extrusions, our technologies in bending, shaping, punching, and
forming have produced products that look more injection molded
than extruded. No need to think of a single material here either. Our
co- and multi-extrusions serve many markets already. With technology
licensed from Dow, we're able to make a wide variety of profiles that
not only meet the flexural modulus of aluminum, they exceed it - and
once bent, they bounce right back. And there's no need to paint them,
just pick your extruded-in color. We've matched thousands over the
years.
This is only the tip of the plastic technology iceberg. There's so much
more. Give us a call.
We're here to help.
